BEIJING, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Wednesday met with President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso after the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
China and the Republic of the Congo have been treating each other with mutual respect, equality, and sincerity since establishing diplomatic ties, Li said, adding that the two countries have withstood the test of changing international situations together and continued to advance friendly relations.
China stands ready to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges, strengthen mutual political trust, align the Belt and Road Initiative with the development strategies of the Republic of the Congo so as to enhance the bilateral relations and cooperation, Li said.
Sassou Nguesso said the Belt and Road Initiative is helping African countries realize their dreams of development, and the Republic of the Congo is willing to enhance high-level exchanges with the Chinese side and cooperate in fields such as infrastructure, telecommunication, and agriculture to achieve win-win results.
